Luggage Recommendations

Before traveling, I needed/wanted to purchase some new luggage; with so many options, where to begin. First, I decided that I just wanted carry-ons because checking in bags seems like a nightmare. The second part was the most exhaustive research ever, which ended in frustration and some tears. I finally decided to use Instagram and see what everyone else thought was the best choice.

First up is, in my opinion, the best travel laptop backpack by Swiss Gear https://www.swissgear.com/backpacks/travel-friendly-backpacks/swissgear-5625-getaway-weekend-backpack-heather-gray. The reason why I love this backpack is the garment compartment with mesh zipped divider. This backpack was a significant game-changer; now, my clothes will be secure and not fall everywhere. I also love just how roomy it is; you can use this for a 3-4-day getaway, and you can also use it as an extra souvenir bag, no judgment.

My next piece of luggage is my weekender duffle bag by Universal Thread from Target. It may look small, but it has a very deep inside, which can fill up quickly and make it a tad heavy. I would advise using this strictly as a weekender bag; anything over three days is too much! I would even recommend that whatever shoes you’re wearing be your only pair.

The last piece of luggage I want to talk about was recommended to me by Esther Kim, who has her travel blog, https://eskimoves.com/. What makes her blog different from the others is her “Travel Map Pack,” an excellent Google Travel guide for food, fun, and everything in between. The carry-on she recommended is by the company Lojel, and this is the one I purchased at https://us.lojel.com/product/voja-small/. According to the website, you should be able to fit 4-6 outfits, depending on how tight you roll up your clothes. What impressed me was the dual wheels system, which allowed me to run through Union Station without worrying if it could keep up. The fact that it’s light as a feather means it’s easy lifting it on and off the train and in and out of an Uber.

I want to recommend the last piece isn’t luggage per se, but it’s still essential. I have fallen in love with this cross-body bag from Amazon https://www.amazon.com/Travelon-Anti-theft-Heritage-Crossbody-Pewter/dp/B01CG1J7XG/ref=sr_1_14?crid=75MOTJCKJORS&keywords=secure+crossbody+travel+bag&qid=1566950462&s=gateway&sprefix=secure+cross%2Caps%2C137&sr=8-14. From the thick straps to the secure zipper closures, this bag will be your go-to travel bag.

So, those are the three pieces of luggage and cross-body that I have fallen in love with and confidently say are great investments.
